CLEVELAND, OHIO (Aug. 14, 2023) – Boss Summit®, a black and female-owned non-profit organization, recently secured a $35,000 grant from The George Gund Foundation, a Cleveland-based non-profit that funds organizations committed to restorative justice.

At its July meeting, the foundation’s Board of Trustees approved several grants, totaling $11.8 million, for organizations with plans to enhance Cleveland’s climate and environmental justice, creative culture and arts, democracy building, public education, thriving families and social justice, and vibrant neighborhoods and inclusive economies.

The $35,000 grant will empower Boss Summit® to accelerate its growth, expand its operations, and support programs that center BIPOC women in community-driven efforts to preserve neighborhoods, increase entrepreneurship opportunities, and provide supportive services for low-income and at-risk individuals. "We are delighted to receive this start-up grant from The George Gund Foundation,” said Boss Summit® founder, Lynn Brishae.

"This recognition and funding are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and vision of

our team. With this grant, we will be able to ramp up our operations, invest in cutting-edge technology, and drive innovation to new heights."

Boss Summit® plans to allocate the grant funds strategically to fuel various growth initiatives, which include partnerships, collaborations, development, product enhancement, branding and marketing efforts. The organization aims to use the funding to also push the boundaries of female entrepreneurship and revolutionize the way in which entrepreneurial women of color are inspired, educated and motivated.

The start-up grant comes at an opportune time for Boss Summit®, as it positions itself for expansion and real estate development. With a dedicated team, a strong business strategy, and the support of The George Gund Foundation, Boss Summit® is well positioned to forge strategic partnerships, drive innovation and enhance Cleveland in the entrepreneurship space.
